Peach OSI's "Peach TV" is ready for immediate download
We, here at Peach OSI have been talking about it for a while. There are so many good applications out there that take the Home Theater PC to new heights that we here at Peach OSI had an itchy trigger finger to take what we had already been using ourselves personally for over a year and make it suitable for Linux HTPC users on a broader scale. Then Microsoft 10 rolled out and we all found out that the "all knowing" developers at MS up and decided to not include Media Center in their new OS release. That left many Media Center users high and dry if they updated to Windows 10. Peach OSI decided that it was finally time to pull that trigger and develop a Peach version of an HTPC. Well to make a long story short - we did it - and Peach TV is now ready for immediate free download. Rather than try to describe Peach TV with a bunch of useless hype I'll just list some of the features in our new Peach OSI, Peach TV.
- Peach TV has Kodi pre-installed and we've taken Kodi to new heights by putting our own touch on what is already one f the best Media Center applications available.
- Peach TV includes support for transferring files from iDevices like iPhones, iPads, iPods and even the Apple Nano. This will make those photos, videos and music that you have on those iDevices easily transferrable to your Peach TV Home Theater PC system.
- Peach TV has the MTP-Tools support files already installed for connecting to Android devices. There are too many different Android devices and different manufacturers of Android devices to give Peach TV the ability to natively transfer files to all those devices but the basic tools are there. We included instructions in the "Read-Me" file that will be on the desktop of Peach TV after installation. Just follow those instructions to enable your Android phone or pad to be able to transfer files into Peach TV.
- Peach TV has native support for NVIDIA video cards. We included instructions in the "Read-Me" file that will be on the desktop of Peach TV after installation.
- XFCE has been updated from XFCE 4.10 to XFCE 4.12 giving the Peach user the latest XFCE functionality.
- Support for just about any Television. Using Peach TV on your personal television is an option that you will appreciate. Not only have we incorporated support for most popular brands of TV's but we've added support for running Peach TV and setting up Peach TV on multiple monitors.
- Support for infrared remote controls. Support for just about any remote control is already installed in Peach TV. If you are using a USB MCE remote - you shouldn't have to setup anything. Just install Peach TV - plug in your USB receiving unit and you're good to go. That way you can control your Peach TV from the comfort of your couch or your bed!
- Support for Silicon Dust HDHomerun devices. If you already have cable TV and you want cable TV to play on your Peach TV then simply purchase a Silicon Dust HDHomerun device and then you can watch cable TV directly in Peach TV. The HDHomerun PVR is already installed in Peach TV (installed but needs to be enabled) making Peach TV a true DVR that needs nothing more than a WIFI connection. Granted, an Ethernet cable connected to your Peach TV PC will give true 1080P but with the WIFi capability you can truly watch cable TV in locations that you never dreamed of having TV before. All without any added cable box rentals. Check with your local cable company about getting a TV cable tuner card for your Silicondust HDHomerun box. They are supposed to furnish one TV cable tuner card for free.
- Support for a Sleep/Shutown timer. Qshutdown is installed so that you can setup your Peach TV to automatically shutdown at a specific time or after a set number of minutes. You can preset these functions so that it is a set and forget timer for day to day usage. I personally find this very handy on our bedroom Peach TV setup.
- Advanced Codec support for Kodi and for CD's, DVD's, Blueray Disks (must have a Blueray player), video, images and audio. Peach TV will play just about any format of just about any media.
- Support for touch screens and an onscreen keyboard. When Peach TV boots it will startup with an onscreen keyboard. If you have a touch screen this is a nice feature. (onscreen keyboard can be easily disabled). We've also included support to setup your touch screen.
- Among the applications installed you will find the following. Audacious, Banshee and Parole Media center applications. Youtube and Amazon web apps. Of course, Kodi. VLC media player and more. I think we've covered all the bases when it comes to playing your media the way that you like to play it.
Well I think that's enough for now. Maybe by what I've explained above you've got the big picture. We didn't just build Peach TV for somebody else to use. We built it for "us" to use. With that in mind we tried our dead level best to give Peach TV all the tools needed to make Peach TV as fully functional of a Home Theater PC system as we could imagine. You can download it now for free from our downloads page. Let us know what you think.
KODI, Silicondust, HDHomerun, Microsoft, Media Center, and Windows 10 are all proprietary names of their respective owners and are copyrighted logos and names. We are not affiliated with any of those entities and only use their names here in this article to explain how each is or isn't used or can be used in Peach TV. Of course no Microsoft products are included in Peach TV.

Hi, There is no password to run the system live. Be sure that you check the ISO download that you have against the MD5 checksum to make sure that you have an accurate and complete download before burning to DVD or USb drive. We recommend you use Yumi's Multiboot for installing the ISo to a USB drive. Yumi Multiboot is free and available here: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/ For a free MD5 checksum program in Windows go here: http://www.winmd5.com/?rid=winmd5 . In a Linux product install GTKHash from your software manager...
