Update: Peach OSI Kid - Wallpaper Submissions Wanted

Peach OSI Kid is well underway

As promised, Peach OSI Kid is well underway and out of the preliminary planning stages. For those of you who would like to give some suggestions as to what applications are on this distro, please feel free to add your comments below this Blog article.

Would you like for your child's artwork to end up as a wallpaper on this release? Please submit any and all artwork by email no later than Oct.15th, 2014. Send all entries to: peachkid@peachosi.com. All entries will be posted on this site for registered users to vote on so get your kids busy drawing today! 12 drawings will be selected to be installed as wallpaper for Peach OSI Kid. All artwork must be delivered to us in a digital format and will not be returned. The larger the image - the better it will appear on the distro.

Peach OSI Kid is meant for use by kids age 5 thru 9, (Kindergarten thru K-4). Peach OSI kids is designed to be a safe environment for kids to learn and play on their computer. Loaded with a safe web browser and tons of interactive fun and learning games and tools to help the young mind adjust to the digital age in a long-term meaningful way.

12 Winning Entries

12 Winning Artwork entries will be used wallpaper for the Peach OSI Kid Linux Distro. No other compensation will be awarded. 12 Winners will be selected by our registered users the week following October 15th, 2014. Please limit your entries to 2 per child. Only 1 winning entry will be chosen per child. Please send your entries by email no later than Oct.15th, 2014 to peachkid@peachosi.com. All artwork must be delivered to us in a digital format and will not be returned. The larger the image - the better it will appear on the distro and the more likely your child's entry is likely to win. Images best display as wallpaper if they are as close to 1920 pixels by 1250 pixels or closely thereof. We suggest that your child make his or her drawing on 8 1/2 x 11 non-ruled paper (any color) and after completion scan their artwork into any digital format. Photographic (camera) images are OK but aren't as likely to produce a good quality digital image. If you do not have a scanner and would prefer to mail your child's drawing directly to us - email us - for our mailing address. In order to protect your child's identity no children's names will be used either on this site or in the wallpaper used in the Peach OSI Kid distro - only initials will be used along with a coded number that will identify whose artwork was chosen. When sending us a sketch or drawing by your child, please only use the child's initials. If we receive duplicate initials for two or more children those duplicate initials will have a numeric value assigned to them such as ABC1 and ABC2, etc. If not enough high quality (speaking purely of the digital quality) images are entered then Jim Carpenter will provide the deficit artwork. We really want all of our wallpaper images to come from the community of upcoming Peach OSI Kid users.

Scheduled Release

Peach OSI Kid is scheduled for release by late fall 2014 or early winter 2014. We have set a target date of November the 15th. This is the first of 6 special user releases which are to target a specific computer user.
